2018. Jan. 19. 06:23The Kékszalag Round the Lake Balaton Race is the oldest round the lake sailing competition in Europe. Comparing to the similar regattas like Bol d'Or, Rund um or Centomiglia it is sailed on the longest course approx. 155 km - 84 nautical miles.
First sailed in 1934 the Kékszalag Round the Lake Balaton Race is the oldest round the lake sailing competition in Europe. Comparing to the similar regattas like Bol d'Or, Rund um or Centomiglia it is sailed on the longest course approx. 155 km - 84 nautical miles. The participating fleet is usually around 600 boats.
The course record is 7 hours 13 minutes (Fifty Fifty 2014).
The Kékszalag was sailed in the even years between 1934 - 1942, after the World War II. in the odd years (1947 - 2001) and yearly ever since.
